Last November 29, 2025, the scholars of the ๐๐ ๐ ๐ ๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง continued their discussion of Jim Collinsโ Good to Great, diving into Chapter 5: The Hedgehog Concept. This session challenged us to reflect on what it truly means to move from being good to becoming greatโnot only as organizations, but as future leaders.
The discussion highlighted the journey from being pre-Hedgehog to becoming a true Hedgehog, guided by the role of the Hedgehog Hunterโone who asks the right questions, confronts assumptions, and pushes for honest reflection. Much like leadership that values truth and dialogue, this process requires patience, discipline, and the willingness to simplify rather than complicate.
At the heart of the Hedgehog Concept is simplicity through alignment. We explored the three intersecting circles: what we are deeply passionate about, what we can be the best at, and what can sustain us in the long run. When these elements come together, they create clarity and direction. Without passion, excellence cannot be sustained; without excellence, passion alone is not enough; and without sustainability, even the best ideas fail to produce great results.

The session was fun, interactive, and rich with dialogue. Through shared insights and open discussions, we learned not only from the book, but also from one another as fellow KFF scholars. Each reflection brought us closer to understanding that greatness is a result of focus, honest self-assessment, and disciplined action.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated. Your thoughtful contributions and commitment to growth continue to inspire our learning community as we moveโtogetherโfrom good to great.
