natalie’s autobiography

My name is Natalie May O. Ngujo, 21 years old, and I was born on September 17, 2004, in Ibabao, Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City. I am the youngest of three children of Paulo B. Ngujo and Lolita O. Ngujo. At present, I am pursuing a Bachelor of Special Needs Education with a specialization in Teaching Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Learners at Cebu Technological University.

Growing up, I was already aware of my family’s financial situation, and it pushed me to dream big at an early age. I always wished to give my family a good life and a home where we don’t have to worry every rainy season. With that goal in mind, I made sure to give my best in school while also allowing myself to enjoy my childhood. Because of my determination, I graduated with Highest Honors in Senior High School and was recognized as our school’s valedictorian.

After high school, I worked hard to secure a scholarship. I prepared and studied for the DOST Scholarship exam, but unfortunately, I was not able to pass. I then applied for the CHED Scholarship as a full scholar, but once again, I was not granted the opportunity. At that point, I started to feel discouraged and thought that maybe being a scholar was not meant for me.

However, one of my seniors from Pusok Senior High School encouraged me to apply for the KFF Foundation. I gave it a try, and fortunately, I was accepted. I believe that maybe I was truly destined to be part of this foundation. I am very grateful to the KFF Foundation, not only because it helps me with my educational expenses, but also because it has given me a second home where I feel supported and inspired.
